Further steeped in tradition, the Tampa Bay Carnival is alive with volunteer spirit, uniting people from all parts of the city, state, country and the world.

The events began back in 2005 when members of the newly organized Tampa Caribbean Festival Inc a 501-C3 community-oriented organization conceived the idea of an event to celebrate the beautiful Caribbean-American Cultures, governed by a board of directors from the community that annually devotes many hours to establishing policies and direction for the annual event.

The organization was founded by Anthony Devon George, a well-known Caribbean artist famous for the soca tune "If Ah Rude Ah Rude". He is the brother of soca artists IWER GEORGE and NAYA GEORGE, natives from the Caribbean island of Trinidad and Tobago. His vision to bring the Carnival from his island came to fruition in 2005 and he has never looked back. Devon extends a welcome to all of you that are coming to the Florida State Fairgrounds for this year's Tampa Caribbean Festival!
